Importance of Exovatio

How exovation leads to economic growth and stability resulting in social cohesion.

History shows us that the solutions for big challenges (e.g. plastic soup in the oceans, traffic jams, depletion of natural resources, deteriorating health care and education, etc ..) hardly ever come from politicians and still the stakeholders of national economies such as: the media, citizens and politicians, keep looking at them for answers.

Another remarkable finding is that the European debate on the renewal of the welfare state (in which all current themes such as immigration, supranational policy of the EU and the Euro are intertwined) cannot be found as main topic on the political agenda of any political party.

The reason why this is remarkable is the fact that a smoothly operating welfare state forms the ultimate symbol for economic prosperity because the latter makes a welfare state possible and as a result social cohesion, provided the mechanism of this welfare state operates smoothly.

The main driver by far, for a growing and sustainable economy is Innovation and surprisingly enough NO political party claims this theme. Which is very sad because Innovation or as we think it should be called Exovation, actually connects political parties instead of separating them.

In our talks with political parties we have done the following findings

  • Basic knowledge about the meaning of innovation is hardly present – field experience is second to none
  • only big financially strong companies are being associated with successful innovations,
  • the absolute power and impact that true disruptive innovation can have is not understood by politicians,
  • government innovation funds are fully aimed at big financially strong companies instead of young creative disruptive start-ups.

The expertise and network that Exovatio represents, will make an unique impact for creative minds and companies. We will put the true essence of Exovatio on the world map. We will do this by taking the following steps:

  • Create awareness for the design faults in the current European Innovation Agenda. We will create awareness by sharing a wide variety of Innovation theft cases through interviews with inventors and entrepreneurs who are the victims of immoral behaviour by multinationals and government policies which result in an unfair competitive innovation advantage for big companies,
  • share our plan of attack and tools to create an Innovation Climate which benefits the misfits and truly creative people who are capable to bring the world disruptive new innovations,
  • support start-ups with our expertise and network to create leverage resulting in a level playing field for these start-ups.

Today’s Innovation Culture

June 19, 2018 1:16 pm Published by

The main characteristics of today’s innovation culture are as follows:

1. Immoral behaviour by big companies

Key decision makers within companies and institutions show ever-decreasing levels of morality. This means that in the process of achieving their goals, they are not hindered by a moral compass but instead focus on how they can get away with immoral behaviour without breaking the law en by bending rules.

Side effect of this decline in morality is that laws will not improve, since the leaders and governors of a nation regard laws and rules as a nuisance, something annoying that has to be dealt with. These leaders don’t feel the obligation to protect and improve the law.

The response we received on before mentioned finding in our talks with key political parties is the following:

they don’t consider their role to be one that fights or prevents the decline in morality. In other words the political leaders don’t feel the need to lead by example nor to develop a policy to fight the decline in morality

2. Government Innovation Funds effectively do not serve start-ups

Government Innovation Funds are directly aimed at big financially strong companies and moreover politicians and governments are convinced that only big established companies are capable of innovating successfully. Furthermore these funds spent considerable amounts on process innovation, which does not qualify as disruptive product innovation that results in new economy and the corresponding new revenue models and jobs. Part of these funds also end up in the hands of private equity funds who claim to invest in start-ups. The bitter reality however is that these private equity companies end-up using these funds for scale-ups (for a large part in other countries) or for so called facilities like office space and support by established big companies to help these start-ups. The reality however is that the start-ups are being brain picked and used in an organised manner.

3. Abuse of power by big companies who have access to Government Innovation Funds

After receiving funds these big companies still have to come up with ideas and innovative projects. Since they don’t have the creativity nor the culture to innovate, they will invite creative entrepreneurs to seduce them to enter in a so called strategic partnership based on reciprocity. These creative entrepreneurs have no choice then to co-create with a big company that has access to funds. The end game most often is that the big company observes how the creative entrepreneurs build the innovation and implement the launching project followed by terminating the collaboration based on false claims and after they have reverse engineered the innovation of the creative entrepreneur.

4. No Intellectual Property protection coverage by legal insurance policy

Small and midsize enterprises who cannot afford expensive lawyers need to rely on their legal insurance. However the legal insurance policy does not cover IP related conflicts. The latter results in a non-level playing field for small and midsize innovation companies. The big companies are aware of this design fault in the Innovation Ecosystem and will abuse the weak IP legal position of the small and midsize innovation companies.

The main characteristics of today’s innovation culture are as follows: 1. Immoral behaviour by big companies Key decision makers within…

How to improve the Innovation Climate

June 19, 2018 1:08 pm Published by

What will Exovatio do to improve the Innovation Climate and to increase the rate of success of creative entrepreneurs in their journey to create value with their idea/concept AND in their journey to capitalise on this value.

1. Moral Recalibration

An ideal Innovation Climate requires at least a moral recalibration. Once creative entrepreneurs realise that innovation is synonymous with handing over your invention for FREE to a multinational, then a countries’ Innovation Power will decline rapidly.

Self-regulation does not seem to work. Big companies / multinationals do not have any interest in a moral recalibration. As long as they can legally get away with Innovation Theft, they don’t consider doing anything wrong. In this case the government needs to act and enforce laws that reduces and eventually eliminates Innovation Theft. If the government does not act, society WILL. Exovatio will create awareness for the ugly truth behind Innovation by sharing multiple interviews with creative entrepreneurs.

2. IP legal protection

It is of the utmost importance that creative entrepreneurs have an affordable means to receive legal aid in case of Innovation Theft. The latter is not arranged in our current Innovation Ecosystem. Exovatio will build a fund based on contributions of its members to financially support creative entrepreneurs who have become victim of Innovation Theft by big companies.

3. Increase the resilience of creative entrepreneurs

Exovatio is a collaboration of Innovation specialists and legal specialists. Together we offer the relevant services to empower creative entrepreneurs and to make them more resilient. Services we offer are:

  • Business Model Stress Test for start-ups
  • Connecting skills from different start-ups to other start-ups
  • Connecting start-ups to Exovatio approved venture capitalists
  • Connecting venture capitalists to start-ups who passed the Exovatio Business Model Stress Test
  • Contract scans with regard to deal making with clients and investors
  • Innovation support and coaching (e.g. how to build a MVP (minimum viable product) without the need for investors)
  • Connecting start-ups to our network of trusted launching customers
  • Interviews with creative entrepreneurs about Innovation Theft will be shared on exovat.io
  • Legal assistance for individual Innovation Projects (e.g. how to protect your proprietary technology)
  • Exovatio will build a fund based on contributions of its members to financially support creative entrepreneurs who have become victim of Innovation Theft by big companies.
  • Crowd funding for disruptive Innovations

Above mentioned tools are visible when watching the interviews as they are linked to the problems mentioned in the interview.
